The fantastic team at our Portsmouth Service Centre is definitely taking our ESG mission to heart. With a wide range of initiatives already underway, they’re being serious about sustainability. From engaging suppliers like Aqua Aid and The Green Office, who invest their profits in good works, and having Shred It securely destroy unwanted documents before recycling the paper. There are also in-house policies like the switch to HVO (which is at 98%) and pallet collection bounties for drivers.
Thanks to a connection between Dave Jackman from the warehouse team and the Roman Grove Allotments in Portchester, where the scrap wood we had collected from deliveries could be put to good use.
As you can see from the photos, everyone in the community at the allotments has benefited from the donation, and the functional and aesthetic improvements are immediately noticeable. Given that we’re constantly collecting scrap wood, and there’s only so much use at the allotments for it, we’re going to be rolling this donation scheme out to other allotments in the local area.
