Manchester Service Centre Achieves EN 9100 & EN 9120 Approvals

We are thrilled to announce that Righton Blackburns Manchester has achieved approvals to EN 9100 & EN 9120.

Created initially as an American ‘AS’ Standard, both EN 9100 & EN 9120 are the equivalent Quality Management System Standards for the Aviation, Space and Defence Industries. Produced and overseen by the International Aerospace Quality Group, the Standards are based on the ISO 9001 international standard for Quality Management Systems but with additional requirements tailored specifically for the Aerospace and Defence industries.

I’m delighted that our Manchester Service Centre has passed the EN9100 and EN9120 assessments. I’m particularly proud of the fact that we passed with no non-conformances, which BSI commented was “exceptional” for a Stage 2 aerospace assessment.
This is a fantastic result, and I’d like to thank everyone over the past few months in the run-up to the assessment and during the week of the assessment itself. Everyone in the Manchester team have gone above and beyond, and I thank them wholeheartedly for their crucial assistance through this journey.

The Manchester Service Centre joins the Portsmouth, Bristol and Plymouth Service Centres in attaining these coveted approvals, allowing the Righton Blackburns’ Aerospace & Defence division to stockhold and offer value-added special processing of aerospace and speciality alloys, distributing to the UK and worldwide markets.

Along with other Service Centres, Righton Blackburns Manchester also holds the prestigious Supply Chains for the 21st Century (SC21) Silver Award and is engaged in the SC21 supply programme - designed to boost the competitiveness of the Aerospace and Defence industry by significantly improving supply chain performance
