Bearing SteelsAMS 6440/6444 (52100) Bar

A low alloy bearing steel that has a variety of industrial applications due to its diverse properties.

52100 is resistant to damage, has a high level of hardness and is magnetic. Heat conditioning can make alloy 52100 a good choice for applications that require tension resistance and strength under pressure.

52100 is machinable and when this metal is tempered, it can be easier to work with than other metals.

Alloy 52100 is a deep hardening alloy steel. Typical applications are within the aerospace industry, specifically aircraft bearings and in other high stressed parts where good rolling contact fatigue strength is required.
