Brass Sheet Portsmouth

Righton Blackburns' Portsmouth Service Centre stocks a wide range of brass products including sheet in grades CW505L (CZ106) and CW508L (CZ108).

A versatile alloy long used for its mechanical and aesthetic properties, brass has been used for centuries for a wide range of applications. Known for its excellent corrosion resistance, conductivity, strength, and machinability.

As with most copper based alloys, brass has anti-microbial properties. Also, since it is not ferromagnetic, brass is easier to separate for recycling. As with many types of copper alloy, brass is a good choice for tools and components in potentially flammable environments due to it's non-sparking nature.

Our Service Centres all hold extensive stocks of metals and plastics, including brass sheet, from reliable sources with full traceability. We pride ourselves on our exceptional reliability in terms of material quality and delivery.

We stock two grades of brass in sheet form, but are able to source any materials and forms you might require, just speak to our friendly sales team who will be more than happy to help you.

CW505L (CZ106)

Also widely known as cartridge brass, CW505L/CZ106 is an alpha brass with excellent cold working properties and especially deep drawing. If you need the perfect balance between strength and ductility, this is the brass you need.

CW508L (CZ108)

Perhaps the most widely used brass alloy available today, CW508L/CZ108 is used for everything from industrial components to fasteners due to the fact that it's incredibly easy to work with at any temperature. Retaining the common brass traits of good strength and corrosion resistance, CW508L/CZ108 is renowned for its great hot forming, cold forming, and bending properties, weldability, and reasonable machining properties. One thing this brass does very well is cold heading.
