AED Action

Life saving defibrillators have been installed at the majority of our Service Centres with the remainder by the end of 2023.

Cardiac arrests can affect anyone at any time. 30,000 occur outside of hospitals across the UK each year. Currently less than 10% of these people experiencing cardiac arrests in the community survive. With speedy emergency treatment, chances of survival shoot up by a whopping 80%.

Defibrillators, also known as Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), will be strategically placed within Righton Blackburns workplaces to provide immediate medical assistance to employees and visitors.

Having AEDs on-site can significantly increase the chances of survival in case of a sudden cardiac arrest. Some key points about workplace defibrillators include:

  • Accessibility: AEDs are easily accessible, visible, and located in areas where they can be quickly reached.
  • Training: Employees receive proper training in using AEDs and performing CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to effectively respond to cardiac emergencies.
  • Maintenance: Regular maintenance and checks are carried out to ensure that the AEDs are functioning properly and the batteries and pads are within their expiration dates.
