Introduction
The inherent characteristics of phosphor and leaded bronze make them ideal materials for use in many applications where load, durability, wear resistance and strength are key. Available in both wrought and cast form, phosphor and leaded bronze are used throughout many engineering industries and are ideal for heavy duty components such as shafts, bearings and gears.
Leaded bronzes and gunmetals offer better machining characteristics than other bronzes, while maintaining a good balance of corrosion resistance and strength.
With a network of nationwide service centres, Righton Blackburns is known for its range of fabrication and processing facilities which include the machining and cutting phosphor and leaded bronze bar and sheet.
Wrought Product
Righton Blackburns stocks PB102 and the Naval specification DEFSTAN 02-838, which has full ultrasonic testing as standard.
Phosphor bronze is also available as sheet, plate, continuous cast bar, centrifugally cast rings, and continuous cast hollow and bespoke section.
Cast Product
Righton Blackburns offers material supplied to many internationally recognised standards for use in applications such as bushes and bearings.
