Plastics, Engineering PlasticsNylon 66 Bar (PA)

A semi-crystalline polyamide with good rigidity, hardness, abrasion resistance and thermal dimensional stability.

Nylon 66 offers a higher mechanical strength, stiffness, heat and wear resistance than nylon 6. It also has a better creep resistance but lower impact strength and is approved for food contact.

Nylon 66 benefits over nylon 6 extruded: Higher temperature rating, lower impact strength and mechanical damping. Higher wear resistance and easier to machine.

This makes it ideal for components which need to meet close tolerances. Nylon 66 has a balanced combination of performance and cost that provides users with a unique engineering plastic polymer. Nylon was the first engineering resin and is used in a wide field of applications ranging from electronic, marine, and automotive industries, to fibres used to make carpet.

Extruded nylon 66 has outstanding wear resistance and low frictional properties whilst also exhibiting very good temperature, chemical and impact properties.
